“I traditionally don’t do many fall designs so it was fun to so something different. I knew I wanted to use a rich fall color scheme of orange, burgundy and browns, and I wanted to use a lot of burlap. My mother is a huge fan of fall so I raided her decorations and found pumpkins and leaves. I used Dollar Store finds like leaves, mini gourds, moss and some carveable pumpkins I made into candle holders. I sprayed them metallic gold and added some spray glitter. They sat in terra cotta flower pots from my backyard. I created all the paper goods with rich patterns printed on craft paper. I used a beautiful handmade gold paper that I accented with twine to give it a rustic feel.
I knew I wanted simple foods and to do something with pancakes. Charynn from Two Sugar Babies created wonderful toppers with edible gold glitter to top the pancakes and also serve as place cardswith the guests names written on the leaves. I also made egg and bacon cups, croissants, salmon cups and mini donuts served with coffee drinks with cups and striped straws from My Little Love. The food was served on wood stumps and hand made white serving pieces. Favors were macaroons from Aly B’s Bakery a local Shreveport bakery. Several different colors were made to give a somewhat ombre effect in the push pop container. They rested in a wire basket with Spanish Moss and coordinating tags.”
